Random pic of Blake

Since I spend so much time at the computer, Blake has come to love sitting on the computer chair. His favorite is to see pictures of himself. This older picture we found to be extra entertaining. Blake now can point out many body parts. Feet, dingdong (belly), ear, and head (but he poins to it carefully as he knows we tickle him whenever he lifts his arm up). He can also point out Jesus, Spiderman, Micky Mouse, Brock and Daddy on our Family Proclemation pic. But when you ask him where is Mommy, he points to himself and says Mama. It all started as I was pointing to myself saying "say Mama say Mama" Well he said it and mimiced my actions. Now he finds it hilarious to point at himself and say Mama whenever you ask where is Mama.

Well

And it just gets worse. Blake decided he didnt want to sleep last night. So I'm running on about 3-4 hrs.... ahhh the pleasures of being pregnant with a young toddler. What were we thinking?

Well as the idiot I am, I forgot to add a subtotal line into the final total and found out that we are much much worse then we thought. How are we going to come out of this?

Its a Boy

Can you see Jack Rigby staring at you? If you look very closely you can see the boy parts in picture two.

So much for my doctors 90% girl.... I made sure to eat a good breakfast just a few minutes before my appt so it would move alot.

Nice Neighbors

Yesterday my two neighbors were taking their daily walk when they passed by our house. It just happened to be when I was outside talking to the landscaper. Here I am, not showered, in my college work out clothes, pretty pregnant, having just cried less then an hour earlier, and still sick as a dog. Well they called an hour later and insisted on bringing me dinner tonight. As pathetic as I felt taking charity from them, I accepted. HOW AM I EVER TO COMPETE. Ok I don’t need to compete, but I am their visiting teacher. When they are down and out I don’t know if I could possibly make a dinner so nice. I got homemade lasagna (best homemade I ever had), homemade rolls, homemade jam, a nice salad, strawberry jell-o salad, and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Will we ever make it through the leftovers? I probably gained my entire 7 lbs lost last week in this one meal! They are amazing. I just wish I hung out with them more or ever by that means. I don’t know how they became such good friends. I suppose Eschelle found out about when Julie’s kids were sick with the same thing mine had and brought them over dinner or something….I did try then by sending over an angel food cake with trimmings. I just wish I had the nerve to call them more and invite them over. Maybe when the kids are well.

Brock sick, cute, and imitating Grandpa John

Blake over the last month. Yes he is eating a tomato like an apple.

AHHH

Well another night of no sleep. Blake woke up twice. The first for almost two hours where he coughed so much he actually threw up. I must say I am SOOOO MAD at those dumb lawmakers who took baby cold medicines off the market just because stupid parents weren’t giving the right doses and ODing their kids. I was responsible and it helped Brock a lot. It sure would have been useful last night, and the night before, and the night before. I am now pretty sure it is two viruses. One Brock gave us and one Blake and I gave Brock. I have been blowing the whole thing off as a normal cold etc, but now I am rethinking if I should take the kids or myself to the doctor. I might if I think Blake has an ear infection. I am not sure he is waking up cause we have been letting him and he just wants to play or if he is hurting. I don’t think coughing and such can hurt my baby, but I am wondering if I should bump my Thursday appt up. Anyway... My husband has been amazing with all this.

Our Turn

Both Terra and Laura had their rounds of illnesses and I guess it was bound to happen to us as well. Brock complained all Saturday of headaches and not feeling well and had just a low temp. By the middle of the night it was at a lovely 103.5. Brock spent his entire Sunday curled up on the couch, refusing anything but water. Sunday night around midnight his fever broke, but he was weak and exhausted all of Monday. Well Monday Blake and I started feeling ill and the rest is history. Blake’s fever has lasted the longest, but I suppose it is because he has refused to sleep at all. I did really well Tuesday morning. I cleaned and tended to the sick kids and then around 1:00 I lost it. I felt like I had mono again. If I could have I would have just curled up like Brock did for the day. I ended up calling Jeff and he took a few sick hours to relieve me. I would feel much better today if it weren’t for the horrible chest cough that is now plaguing the kids and me. I was determined to call the doctor today if it didn’t let up at all. The pain was so bad in the chest I was sure we all had pneumonia like my neighbors just had. My coughing has eased a bit and that gives me hopes the kid’s coughs will slow soon. The baby in the belly has been moving around a lot and that reassures me since I have lost over 3lbs in the last 5 days. With that loss I am up a total of 3lbs for the entire pregnancy.

The weather has been lovely and the kids spent sometime outside in the sun yesterday. Our sprinkler system is being installed. If our landscaper knew how lucky he was that he was paid before profit sharing. It will be wonderful to have the yard done. We are hoping to have the dirt delivered next weekend for us to shuffle around and then the sod delivered the following weekend for us to install. Ivory gave us a certificate for 4000sq feet and we are hoping that will cover the entire area minus planters and garden. I am hoping to have enough reward points from our credit cards to get a Lowes gift card to cover the trees. Jeff has an interview at Wendy’s tonight. We are hoping that he can start there right away and that will hold us over until better opportunities arise.

What to say....

This week has been a very typical one. I went to Orem this week to meet Jeff for lunch and was able to visit Target. Oh how I have missed being so close to the vast shopping options that Layton and Bountiful gave me. I had a blast and only wish my kids weren't tired (or there at all ) so I could have enjoyed myself more. While I realized how ridiculous that I was so excited -no- elated to have gone to Target and was wastefully wishing I didn't live in the middle of no-where, I was given one of those beautiful moments later in the week, that made me so happy to live in the middle of no-where. It was 55 degrees (which almost feels like a 65 for Petaluma) and the kids and I were out with nothing but sweatshirts. The air was crisp and clean, and I stood in the middle of the street staring at my house and the vast nothing around. I couldn't help but love the feeling of security in it all. Safe as my kids played in the dirt, safe from the troubles and pressures of the world. Safe knowing that no one would bother down this way unless they had business here.

On Saturday we got our wonderful babysitter Lindsey, went out to dinner at Cafe Rio, and went to WiseGuys to see Dave Metcalf perform. Jeff ended up reading the website wrong and it was a hypnotist named Hypno Hick. It was highly entertaining and we are glad we went. With how easily Blake went to sleep with Lindsey and with tickets only $5 a piece, we will probably go see Dave when he really performs in two weeks. Maybe we should make our way to the Temple too.

We actually went to church as a family. Blake made it the whole time.... I know it was the miracle of daylight savings. Jeff still didn't get any spiritual enlightenment since he spent the two hours in the nursery with Blake. What is the deal with 18 months. What do they really expect us to do with our child from 15-18 months? He is impossible.

Jeff is upstairs with the kids and their running and wrestling is so loud I am afraid they are going to smash thru the floor. I keep hearing Brock slip and fall on the hard wood (that cant be safe). Blake has been eating like a champ lately though he is very particular about what he wants. For a snack he had a hostess cupcake, corn and peas. Yummy. I am glad he is eating more but his diapers have begun to reflect it..... is 16 months too early to potty train? I would have to get a mini toilet since he still cant climb up on the couch by himself and still has problems doing it with a stool. I guess I could wait a few more months... like 12.

Shy little Baby

Well my ultrasound was a bust. The baby is fine and all looks well expect for the fact it kept its ankles crossed. After some prodding and poking it moved, and crossed it's legs the other direction. In addition to that IT kept putting it's hand down there and the umbilical cord was flopping around in the way as well. The doctor says 90% it is a girl, but after some more analyzes at home, the picture of the fuzzy parts, looks more like a butt crack (there was no nice way to say that) then the magical three lines that determine it. How can the doctor even guess a girl when the knees are touching and the ankles crossed. He said he would try and sneak me in for another ultrasound at my next appointment but I am having issues waiting another 3.5 weeks. I am a wreck. I could go to the mall in Provo, but it is 85 dollars, and what if they don't see anything. If Tim didn't lose his job and it weren't profit sharing time, I would be on my way to Provo now!

After my appt I went to Walmart and parked next to a truck with a huge white lab. Only half a foot from us, Blake sat there for a couple minutes laughing at the thing. After our trip was over the dog was still there. Blake exclaimed three times. Doggy Doggy Doggy. That is technically his first real word. The first time we could really make out what he was saying and knew exactly what it was regarding. 16 months and finally a real peep out of the boy!!!

UPDATE: Tonight I was showing Blake pics on the camera and when he saw one of me he said very loudly "Momma". TWO WORDS in one day!
