Fun Fun Fun

The house this week

The painters were working and so there are no new pics of the inside

Blake is 1

Well Blake has been 1 for 10 days now- and what a difference it has made. He has more personality then ever (by personality I mean attitude). He either wakes up on the right side or wrong side of the bed each morning- and he has no problem expressing it (aka trying to bite us when he is mad). But when he is happy- he is REALLY happy. He puts everything on his head to make a hat- and cracks himself up doing it. He has also mastered one of the most important skills a baby can do -turn the tv on and off until Brock is ready to lose it. Blake loves baths, outside, books (mostly trying to tear them apart), and cars. He still has no interest in walking- and with Disneyland just 19 days away-we dont have much time.

Blake also loves loves to eat. He knows where Grandpa's candy is suppose to be, knows magically without looking that your bowl has ice cream in it, and has offically made a decision that mashed peas ( and most of canned baby food) are horrible. I am beginning to worry that he is alot like me- a slightly bi-polar chocoholic- or maybe he is just a normal 1 year old.

The house is comming along

10/22/08 - Well it looks like most of the outside is done, and they have the tile and wood laid. It is really comming along.
Blake's Birthday was on Sunday. He got some great blocks and cars. The cars Grandma Larsen got him were a big success (with all kids ages 1-5). Most of the footage of his first birthday was done with our video camera-and so I cant put it on the computer. Blake sure is getting big and he is sweet as pie.

Binging

Still not feeling 100% after this weekends illness, Blake still not drinking (and now not eating), and Brock laid out on the couch with the stomach flu... I am very overwhelmed...Why would weaning and the stomach flu happen the same week? Ahh trials. I guess, when everything in life, seeming so wonderful - the normalities of everyday are slammed together to give the Saint her trials.

So what do I do? I over eat-(pizza and hostess cupcakes anyone?) I feel much better actually, yet in the back of my head I know that tonight I will feel worse-and overall it will make everything much much worse. So this leaves me to pose the question, and I look for whatever advice you want to lend,

How do I de-stress myself when there is no way out with out food?

Stuck in the house, not a moment to yourself, how do you cope without scarfing the rest of the treats from Saturdays rained-out soccer game? I am sure many of you (especially my ever so skinny sister-in-laws) handle your stress much better then I do-or maybe you dont get stressed-but I am weak. I even taught Brock, after a frantic trip to Target, to say "My Mom is a Spaz".

So again any advice would be great, but I will probably shoot it all down as completely impossible to do. At least, my trials as they are, are small and should be over within the week- FINGERS CROSSED.

Our House

We drove down to Santaquin yesterday to view the progress on the house. We set up the DVD player for the kids and moved Blake to the big boy forward facing car seat (yes we gave in two weeks yearly). Blake thought he was the coolest kid in the world. The house is getting there-they are suppose to start the drywall on Tuesday. Sandy and John followed us down- it was a bit of a drive for them- and a bit too cold for Sandy's taste. After, we all went to the Olive Garden in Orem- where Dave was more then hospitable. I think we ended up there for almost two hours. Unfortunately, I had yucky tummy, so didn't pig out as usual.

Weaning

HELP-

Blake and I are on day three of this whole weaning thing. I am losing patients, hope, and faith in this whole thing. He still hates sippy cups and bottles, and when he does put them in his mouth he only chews on them (he doesnt seem to know how to hold his mouth and suck)- and drinks very very little. Besides babyfood, and two nursings (in three days) he has only had like 3-5 oz a day. I dont know how to proceed. My milk is already dwindling. Basically- I need encouragement-
