Life Lately

Blake has a new obsession with trying to fit his bottom in things. From baskets to bowls, if he thinks his bottom will fit he will try and sit in it. Half the time he is way off and his little bottom is stuck and the bowl, bucket, or whatever is hanging off him until I come and pull it off him. Blake has also started to tell stories. He blah-blah-blahs and ya-ya-yas enthusiastically as he waves his arms around in full story telling mode. His vocab has been increasing slightly and has just added juice to it. I still think he has less then a five word vocab, but he is trying to mimic us more and more.

Brock has begun to get pretty annoying. He might start a topic of say ice and keep that topic alive for an hour or more. "Can ice be as big as a car?" "Yes it can be as big as a glacier" (proceeded with a lecture about glaciers) then Brock asks "Can ice be as big as a person?" (proceeded how many planets are made up of mostly ice- so ice can be as big as a planet) Brock then asks "Can ice be as big as a TV?" AHHHHH "yes a planet and glacier are both bigger then a TV"... or he will start a topic of how cool it would be to be part spider and have a spider body... that topic has been going for weeks now...Oh how a mind of a five year old works!!!

Today Jeff and I turned in all our paperwork for medicaid. It looks like, because of our assets, ie cash, car, 401k etc we are over the asset limit and will probably have to pay somewhere between 300-700 dollars as a one time co pay. Hey that isn't bad considering it will cover in full the hospital, me for 2 months after, and the baby for an entire year after delivery. We just have the waiting game till it is official. Apparently though, unemployment services has it in their records that Jeff was hired at Petco....hmmmm. He did apply as a manager (the job paid bank) over a month ago, but he has never heard anything back. We all just took it as a fluke...but hey maybe they'll call someday!

Jeff does have two interviews this week already. One today and one on Wednesday. We know the one on Wednesday pays 40000-50000. We know that this by no means, means he will get a job soon, but knowing he is getting interviews in our range gives us some hope this early on. It has only been week one of unemployment, and one month since we started looking for a new job at all...so we are still confident that something may happen-we haven't had enough to make us discouraged yet.

Well update- the interview today was a bust... apparently the HR girl is an idiot. Jeff walked into the interview and the man said... you are way overqualified and this job only offers 11.50 an hour and it is obvious you are worth twice that. So Jeff didnt even do the interview. At least Wed is a more viable option.... oh the waiting game. Again...it has only been a week, it has only been a week.

I feel good about Wednesday.

Ben has been in the "what if" mode for a year now. Constant questions like, "what if we were rich?" and "What if I was taller than Max?" Jack has forced him down to one "what if" question a day.

Just keep on keeping on I guess. Getting any interviews at all is a good sign. Good luck. We'll be praying for you
