Sleep?

Now that Blake has been moved to the bottom bunk putting him to bed has become a challenge. We still rock him in Jack's room for awhile and if he doesn't fall asleep in the 15 minutes he is laid down awake in bed and forced to cry it out. Some nights he falls asleep without a peep (which is a relief to Brock who must endure the crying). With Blake's unwillingness to fall asleep as well as he once did, both boys are going to bed much later then before and with our latest colds, are both tired. Now being tired is something I know alittle something about. I have to admit that Jack would have a much better night time schedule if it weren't for me. I pick him up and nurse him and awake an hour or two later with him happily asleep cuddled with me on the bobby in the rocking chair. I just cant keep myself awake.

I have decided Jack is slightly tongue tied. He cant stick his tongue outside of his mouth. It doesnt seem to affect his nursing so I will have the doctor look at it at his next appt. It is pretty funny to see him try to lick his lips and see that his tongue cant come out.

Well today was Brocks 1st day of school. He managed to ride the bus to and from for the first time and get hot lunch successfully. He did give the lady a 5 and she kept the whole thing, so I assume we now have a credit...I hope. He only has 2 kids from his kindergarten class in 1st grade and one of them is the boy Brock called the "mean kid" cause he was soo bossy and pushy....well I hope Brock will make new friends and can stay out of the "mean kids" way. He did say he loved 1st grade so much and cant wait to go back.

The job search has been cruddy lately. There are weeks and months that just produce better jobs to apply and more interviews. I guess though, the last almost four months could all be considered cruddy since we haven't found a job yet. When I pray I feel an end is near (lets hope it is real revelation and not just my hopes).

Hey! I have discovered a new favorite site: supernanny.com. I have been using some of the stuff on Zack to stop his hiting, biting, etc. It really is working! Their sleeping stuff seems good to. I am going to try it when we get home, since they have both been in our same room this whole time, I am thinking we might have a problem when we return. But check it out. It might help with getting Blake to fall asleep in his own bed by himself. Good luck!

I totally understand the falling a sleep while nursing thing. I promised myself I wouldn't do it this time. We will see. We get Lyla's new big girl bed today so I might be calling you for advice. By the way, Your kids are so cute.

I commonly have my students graph the grade level that the students in the class enjoyed the most. First grade is almost always the winner. I believe that fourth grade has always received the lowest number of votes. Brock will love it.

Did you mean booby? Or who is that bobby kid sleeping with you. Katie, I love to read about your life and all the little things that are really so important in our lives. It's not easy being Mom, but it is such a blessing.

This is my first visit to the Siddoway blog. Your boys are so cute! First grade is lots of fun! I taught first grade for 8 years. I miss it. Your family is in our prayers. I know all too well about job hunting headaches and frustrations. Something will come along!!! Love, Cheryl
